excellent example of kkkangress's "successes"

mar 5th, 2009

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/05/india-rejects-owners-proposal-on-gandhi-items/?scp=5&sq=gandhi&st=cse

1. they latched on to something of pnly mild symbolic value, like gandhi's eyeglasses. (i dread to think of what the fuss would have been if someone were to auction, say,  jawaharlal's chaddis -- which i suspect were green and pink. light green with pink stripes? the mind boggles)

2. they went all out shrieking like banshees and running around doing useless things like sputtering with rage, instead of negotiating with the white guy, or threatening the us government with some dire consequences

3. the white guy who owned it lectured the kkkangress on increasing spending on health care and do a gandhi exhibition -- thus humiliating the kkkangress government, pointing out the obvious: that they have done nothing in their 60 years of rule to help the people gandhi wanted to uplift, and that for them, gandhi is an empty idol they trot out on one day of the year

4. in the process, the publicity got the items to skyrocket in value

5. the ruling by an indian court in favor of the kkkangress was disdainfully ignored by the yanks, who claim the indian court has no jurisdiction. where were all the obamistas and 'friends of india' in the obama administration?

6. the kkkangress government looked like buffoons, the white guy got $1.8 million, as the auction went right ahead, and darnfool indians bid up the price

7. when are we going to discard all these empty symbols, like NAM, socialism, garibi hatao, aam admi (which i always thought meant mango-man), etc? not while the kkkangress still exists, i suppose.

in other words, the kkkangress may huff and puff, but the yanks don't give a damn. they would have been far more receptive to say, a similar concern about jinnah's relics, because they are far more concerned about pakistan.

jawaharlal's green lite and red lite chaddis. now that is a thought to send shudders down the spines of grown men.

How can one be sure that the eyeglasses really are the ones that were used by Gandhi? It could very well be something "Made In China".
