here's giant india, a huge military power, saying it is not scared of the LTTE, which has been almost totally destroyed by the small sri lankan army, with its supremo probably holed up underground somewhere.
i wouldn't put it past the xinhua guys to have made up this story to make india look like the elephant that's afraid of the mouse.
and the news about the sri lankan cricket team being attacked by the "oppressed minority" terrorists in pakistan, it makes me wonder if it wouldn't have been a good idea to send the indian team to pakistan after all. that would have been one way of getting fresh blood on the team, pun intended.
interesting, though. the pakistanis and the LTTE were on good terms for a while, then the pakistanis and the sinhalese were on good terms.
reading between the lines, the fact that the ISI allowed an attack on the mostly-sinhalese sri lankan team implies that the ISI is not pally with the sinhalese government of sri lanka. this further implies that the indian government *is* pally with the sinhalese. so much for the DMK's sentiments regarding tamils being massacred in sri lanka -- the kkkangress is saying foo to them.

Replace a divided weakened SriLanka with internal bickering among its ethnic factions, with a country ethnically cleansed of its India friendly tamil minority and a stronger country thats united behind Sinhalese ranks and willing to take orders from ROP and ROR(religion of Red) padre.. Take that India ,for having turned a blind eye toward the ethnic issue and even going to the lengths of supporting and abetting indirectly the ethnic genocide of Tamils.. When the Indians look upon the events 25 years from now, they will realise how serious a folly the Indian government committed in Sri Lanka..

What makes you think Non Tamil Indians are happy that Sri Lankan Tamils are being killed. From what I am gathering, no one is happy. But No one is also prepared to support the LTTE due to past experiences.
I think the Lankans are most welcome to come and settle in India , if need be. The Sri Lankan people are stupid. I hope one day they realize their stupidity.
