I dunno if they're totally abandoning the Georgians, or if they're just trying to muzzle them, to keep them from acting up during a vulnerable early period for Obama. Clearly he can't afford a head-on clash with the Russians right now, while he struggles to get the ball rolling. So maybe they'll try to pacify the Russians for the near term, so that they can go after them at the time -- AND PLACE -- of their choosing. Remember, Brzezinski preferred to wage jihad on the Soviets from the remote SouthAsian flank, so that hostilities would be kept far from precious Poland.
