amazing story. this 'roy abraham varghese', a kerala christist, looks the very picture of a front-man for some christist fundamentalist organization, possibly the vatican, or maybe the pew trusts -- somebody who has lots of money to invest in fraud but doesn't want their name to be out in the open. varghese has no visible source of income that would enable him to fund this sort of lavish christist propaganda where he flies people around all over the place and hobnobs with nobel prize winners (he's a 'business analyst in high technology', which means a software engineer making $100k), so he must be one of those clever christist-entrepreneurs, making money off of the gullibility of white people, sort of like our good friends k a paul and billy graham and pat robertson. nice job of latching onto the generous mammaries of the church.
also, varghese is an auto-didact, ie. he has no scholarly track record. yet, he finds this poor old man flew, brainwashes him, puts words into his mouth, and ghost-writes a book that apparently 'proves' that flew ditched his atheism. the cynical exploitation of the old man's fading intellect in his senility is a crime, but hey, that's the kind of thing the church excels at.
much like the 'proof' of the arrival of 'saint' thomas in kerala, or the 'proof' of the existence of jesus -- this is another exercise in 'proof by repeated assertion'. fraud, hoaxes and questionable practices are practically second nature to some of these people.
and it makes a very nice living for roy abraham varghese, as it does for tons of other kerala christists who are the spearhead of the church's expansion activity and propaganda anywhere in india. they are the storm troopers of the vatican in india just as the south koreans are elsewhere.

Here's another enterprising Kerala christist "father". Quick, rice christian - take note. He's visiting Florida. "Reverend Thomas is spreading the Christian faith in Islamic areas, reaching out and converting Taliban leaders to Jesus."
This is good. Let the old dog make some money. As long as he doesn't send any remittances from his ill gotten money to evangelise in India, it's ok. Quick, Jos/Mathew/Christian - a great chance to "zimbly yearn meney". take your cousins the Vargheses, the Kuriens, the Kallarackals etc and follow this padre to Afghanistan and Iraq. Make sure you take out some insurance policies in case of getting caught. Unlike the benign "Hindu fundamentalists" you demonise so much, those mullahs are known to favour emasculation for proselytising padres.
