Obama's First Appointee: Rahm Emanuel

So Obama has already issued his first key appointment, selecting close associate Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff. The appointment already seems to be causing a stir, as a Chicago Jew known to be a ruthless hatchet-man for the Democratic Party. He also seems to be a Democrat analog to the Neo-cons, having published his own manifesto for America in the 21st Century. Well, let's see how pro-Israel he is, and whether he can keep the Brzezinskis & Albrights at bay, since the Chief of Staff position does function like a gatekeeper, to grant or deny access to the President. Fortunately, the bombastic Brzezinski has advertised himself as an open anti-semite, and even Albright is tainted by her failed mideast peace process. I'm interested in seeing what his new approach on terrorism is.

Here is B Raman's assessment of Obama's other possible cabinet choices. I agree, Holbrooke would be bad for us, as he is notorious as Albright's right-hand man. More on other key personnel:

The jew is a good hire - if he needs to drive change - will need brash chaps that respect him but are willing to do hatchet jobs.

Watch his other hires - I think, from a US point of view - he will end up making decent appointments. He may throw a few bones in Clintons direction - just to keep that end out of nuisance - but I expect Obama to make good appointments. One of the reasons why I think he will dump Paulson - and get some like Jamie Dimon on board too ...

In US system of governance Chief of Staff is equivalent to Prime Minister…. the one who takes care of day to day running of the government. Every cabinet member, including the VP, can have access to the President only if WH Chief of Staff approves it. So I think it is a very good move by Obama.

For me this is a big relief because I always feared he could be a closeted Muslim. With this appointment he has come clean. So I can support Obama now. What do you say Rajeev?

I pity the lefty, pro-Palestine Arab, muslim public which must've backed Obama. Poor blokes. Another administration "hijacked by Jews!" :-)

Obama is still a protectionist, and his recent worrying comments on Kashmir tell me that he's being exposed to the seductions of the Brzezinskis & Albrights whispering in his ear.
