Nice presentation, Rajeev. I think in slide 49, for cotton painting it should be Sanganer instead of Sironj. Sironj is in Madhya Pradesh. I might have missed it in the long presentation but I don't find any reference to VijayaNagara/Hampi [Vitthala Mandir, Hazara Rama Mandir, Diamond trade, ...]

Good slide deck.
Who is going to bell the cat?
What would be Organization/structure to do the ten recommendations.
We all keep talking about it. Last election I know few IITians in Chennai tried to start a party, contest election etc. But it went no where.
How do we make these thoughts into action. I am sure, we have enough intelligence amongst us, to create a plan, implement for say a 5 year plan.
I believe there is a huge educated Youth in India, who is willing to listen. Much like Obama's campaign, we should start the grass roots development, may be hire one of the David's to help us navigate through.
I AM READY!!!! I want to see India regain its past glory in our lifetime......

thanks pandit, for the correction. i got the info on textiles from the terrific book by bajaj and srinivas, 'timeless india'.

as for vijayanagar, it is truly the 'teardrop on the face of time': living testimony to what barbarians can do to civilization. hampi is a metaphor for what is being done to india now. i agree that the incredible wealth of vijayanagar due to agricultural surplus in the tungabhadra delta, the control of the gem trade (golconda diamonds etc.) and control of trade on both the malabar/konkan and coromandel/golconda coasts.

gopinath, good point. the one lesson to be learnt from obama is the effectiveness of an emotional campaign that excites young people. the reason i put this presentation together is so that young people can see the *value* in indic civilization: it is not a dead-end that semitic death cults usually lead you to.

I did not get answer to my question yet. Can we take a lead in creating an organization to lead this effort?
I know we have very passionate people in this forum, we can be an effective force!!!!
