idol-worship! heavens! how can good crypto-christists like the dmk accept that?
reminds me of the time when all the tamil nadu buses were named after some dinky little regional chieftain, and the total mess that led to.
i am afraid the dmk are the worst thugs in india (eg. t r "gas-thief" baalu, muthuvel karunanidhi), except for laloo prasad yadav and other such ruffians.
actually come to think of it, i have to change my mind. the 'dravidians' being transparent rascals are no worse than all those oh-so-sanctimonious, well-dressed, 'people-like-us' jerks in the kkkangress and the communist party, such as manmohan singh, p chidambaram, karat and yechuri.
i was once again thinking that decent people cannot survive amidst this crowd. apj abdul kalam was probably the best president since radhakrishnan, so of course they had to dump him and replace him with a pliant, female version of giani zail singh, who crawled when asked to bend. this prathibha patil is so embarrassing!

The Dravidas suck, regardless of what they do. But Muthuramalinga Thevar in the story linked from this post was a great nationalist leader, follower of Netaji. After independence, he was arrested on charges of murdering a christian, and spent a long time in Jail. Upon release, he turned spiritual, but was labelled as mad. There is very little information available on him.
Of late, his community (thevar)people are turning nationalistic, particularly in the south of Tamil Nadu. And they venerate him.
