Your regular dose of pseudosecularism

  1. Moron Watch: 100 million dollar lawsuit filed in New York

The Moron of the Month award must surely go to Surinder Malhotra of the Indian National Overseas Congress (INOC) that has filed a lawsuit against three individuals for placing an advertisement in the New York Times against Sonia Gandhi. The plaintiffs want the court to rule that the defendants pay them 100 million dollars for placing an advertisement against Sonia Gandhi. Yes, you got it right! ABC places an advertisement against XYZ. So Malhotra wants 100 million dollars! We'll let him explain why he filed the lawsuit.
"Therefore, I could not keep quiet; I am morally responsible to save the honour of our party President," Malhotra said.

In response to a question if he was asked to file the lawsuit by the Congress in India, Malhotra replied in the negative.

What next? Surinder Malhotra to demand 100 million dollars from Hillary Clinton for attacking Barack Obama?

  2. 'Free Tibet' flags made in China!

It looks like the Chinese government isn't very smart.
The factory in Guangdong had been completing overseas orders for the flag of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

  3. Congress Party in violation of the law?

If the claims in the lawsuit mentioned above are true, Sonia Gandhi's Congress Party may be in violation of the laws of India.

The Representation of the People Act explicitly forbids political parties from receiving funds from a foreign source, but the complaint filed by the Indian National Overseas Congress says that the Congress Party actually maintains a wholly owned subsidiary in the US. Sonia Gandhi might be in trouble in the US too. The defendants will most likely subpoena her and question her in court. The defendants are likely to subpoena the FBI for records on Rahul Gandhi's reported detention at the Boston airport in 2001.

  4. Salman Rushdie admits he is deranged

We could have told him if he had asked us. After several years, Salman Rushdie has discovered the truth.
It was deranged thinking. I was more off-balance than I ever had been, but you can't imagine the pressure I was under.

  5. Muslims debate religious tolerance

First, some Muslims want to pass a resolution calling for respecting all religions. This results in a debate. Read the arguments below.
Those who opposed it argued that such a pact would force people to recognise religions, which advocate idol worship, and that "would be unacceptable."
    . . .
"Some consider Buddhism, Qadianism and Baha'ism as religions. Can we make it obligatory for Muslims to respect these faiths and avoid criticising them?" he asked.

Talal Bakri, one of the staunch critics of the move, said "if we approve the resolution it will be make it obligatory to recognise some religions and will facilitate establishing places of worship for them in Muslim countries."
Islam is a Religion of Peace and respects all cultures.
