Wouldn't Sreedharan be more useful continuing in the infrastructure field? Maybe better to keep him architecting/coordinating things, rather than kick him upstairs.

I agree, this govt badly needs Engineers and technology folk, but not in a decorative post.

san, at 84 sreedharan should not be expected to do a lot more civil engineering, but to inspire kids, like kalam did.
ratan tata has lost most of his luster after the mistry episode, as well as the revelation that all's not well with the tata empire.
i think rakesh sharma is dead, and anyway an astronaut may not be all that inspirational, compared to the scientists and engineers behind him.
pagan, depends on their dedication. kalam did great by writing and reaching out to kids with all the pomp of the presidential palace.
