the zune was supposed to be the next big thing, but it was the edsel of music players.
however, microsoft may have the last laugh. they have sold their new kinects (accessory for xbox that senses player movements without a dodgy controller/joystick) like hot cakes. apparently the thing is one of the fastest-selling items in electronics history.
you win some, you lose some. i guess that means you get steamrolled by apple, but can survive against nintendo and sony.

MS is going in for smartphones just like its rivals, altho it's somewhat late to the party. So music-playing, etc is all included in that.
