i am writing a piece on ibm's 'watson' program that plays jeopardy

i am not sure this is an epoch-making thing -- a computer that can understand normal language. although it is creepily like HAL in 2001. 

anybody have any good thoughts on this matter? i will promise to steal the good ones, and will try to give you credit :-)
