guru jaggi vasudev's isha yoga center, coimbatore

nov 14th, 2008

someone sent this to me as a chain letter, but it looked like it might be jaggi vasudev's center, and it turns out it is.

i once attended a 2-week evening course in beginning yoga by guru vasudev, and he is one awesome person.

interesting place, this center. has a huge free-standing dome, built by volunteers.

I would be wary of hindu gurus who get close with Dravidas. The arch dravida karunanithi shared a dais with this person during the height of the 'deny Lord Ram' days, and advised Hindu Gurus to 'grow trees' and not 'religion'. The word for religion in tamil also can mean 'musth' of elephants, and karuna used it in that context as well - all in the presence of this 'august' guru.

Beware of 'Gurus' who cater to an international market and build forex. There is enough scope to work within the borders of India for any number of Hindu gurus - remember Lakshmanananda Swamiji?
