On the allegation that she had grossly underpaid her maid and committed visa fraud, NY Consular officer Devyani Khobragade was arrested by US Marshals, and presented to the jail in handcuffs, eventually being subjected to strip-search and even cavity search, while being locked up with other criminals. Whatever the substance of the charges, why subject someone to this treatment? Why not just serve them with a court summons? In any case, the matter had already been brought before an Indian court.
Indians have united in outrage, and have even gone to the extent of removing security barricades from the US embassy in protest.
Of course, the yanks just don't get what all the fuss is about.

I hope all this furor buries Preet "Uncle Tom" Bharara's political career for good!
This guy has been accused by Russia of humans rights violations in the prosecution of one of its citizens in the US, and is on a list of 18 American officials banned from entering Russia.
The gall of Preet Bharara - bringing up human rights violations in this case, when he himself is guilty of the same!
