Long live Indo-Israeli Alliance!

Up until now India was only buying arms from the Israelis. The Israelis are the second biggest supplier of high-tech military stuff to India, after the Russians.
Now finally India wants to have joint exercises with the Israeli military, especially their world-renowned Special Forces. This would help both India and Israel to work jointly in Terroristan, when there is a meltdown there and Jihadi forces attempt to take over.

Also note that Israel was the only country to supply India with cutting-edge weapons from its own current stock, when we needed it the most during the Kargil war.

I had heard it was the French who supplied our Mirages with the laser guided bombs that essentially destroyed the jihadi camps.

Well, TallIndian, you heard wrong. No jihadi camps were destroyed in the making of that war. The Indian Mirages in the Kargil war kept to Indian territory (didn't overfly Paki territory) and only attacked the (Paki) Kashmiri troops that Pakistan had used as cannon fodder in the Kargil war. We did not have the balls to even overfly Paki territory, much less destroy any Jehadi camps. If you remember we (i.e. the then BJP govt.) "respected the sanctity of the LOC" though why we consider the LOC sacrosanct when we claim the Whole of POK is open to question. Pak shot down one of our Mirages (the pilot was named Nachiketa) flying over our territory and in retaliation the IAF shot down a Paki Navy P-3C Orion flying in Paki territory. That was the only show of Indian political b***s in that war. The brave Indian soldiers displayed plenty of b***s in the war but the govt. failed them. Incidentally, our Mirages at that time WERE NOT EQUIPPED with laser guided weapons. We got them later.

I stand corrected in a qualified way :) it turns out that "Only 9 LGB’s were dropped during the whole war, 8 by the Mirage fleet and one by a Jaguar". Apparently there was a problem with using the LGB's as the BR article mentions. I remember though that much after the war, there was news that India had bought LGB's for the Mirages - probably from Israel.

A correction - the plane the IAF shot down was a Atlantique of French make not a P-3C Orion as I stated earlier. The two are somewhat similar though the P-3C is larger and more capable. Pakistan has both.
