Yeah, more Cars are evil nonsense. Comparing our pathetic excuse for cities to a First World city like Seoul is laughable. This is what Seoul looks like (on average)

This is what "IT Capital" Bangalore looks like (in average)

Yeah, this is from some smarmy Euro-peon holier than thou leftie, but the points he makes are correct.

The point I am trying to make is, Seoul has solved 20th century problems (Yeah I have been to Seoul). It has 24/7 power, clean drinking water, proper garbarge disposal, and excellent drainage systems. It therefore makes sense for them to start thinking about 21st century issues. Bangalore (and India as a whole) we are stuck with 19th century issues. Reliable power supply, drinking water, and good sewage systems, and excellent transit are unheard of. I think we should first strive to reach the 20th century in terms of public infrastructure before aiming for the 21st. And no, cars are NOT the root cause of the pathetic state of our "cities" (if they can be called that).

Glad you are making an attempt to present facts. That is progress compared to those ridicule-packed sentences. What you are still missing is this: cities everywhere have to come up with solutions for congestion. That won't go away by denying global warming.

I used ridicule packed sentences because your positions were ludicrous. Again, we have the dubious distinction of having the worst polluted and congested cities in spite of very low vehicular population. Congestion in our cities is more an issue of poor planning, lack of traffic control and poor driving habits. Btw, do not underestimate the power of ridicule.

Elon musk has some interesting ideas about tunneling technology. He seems to be focused on the transportation niche. Probably multiple layers of tunnels could provide some transit relief for urban commuters.

yes, you are very good at ridicule, SS, but i have never seen anything constructive from you or in fact anything other than this sort of sneering. why don't you try to be a little less holier-than-thou and you'll probably get a meaningful dialog going rather than just irritating people?
