This is unbelievable and utterly shocking! A blatant underhanded way to propagate Christianity in India. I'm pretty sure that this would have been the brainchild of nominally Hindu person(s) trying to curry favor with the Italian Vicereine. That is the tragedy of India - no shortage of Jaichands (or Gandhis/Nehrus but then I repeat myself).
