The Editorial Team
While the national media refuses to take note of the fierce communal clashes that have rocked Farakka, Murshidabad district in West Bengal many Hindu villages like Jafarganj, Kutighat, Imamnagar, Nayansukh, Kashinagar, Raghunathpur, Choukigram, Beniagram and Kedua have been looted, destroyed and burnt by the fundamentalist Muslims. The Hindus of these villages have fled the area and taken shelter in relatively safe Hindu areas.

East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) which witnessed horrible massacres in Noakhali and Tipperah in October 1946, after the call for Direct Action, again saw the gory spectacle of massacres and butchery in 1950. In all the incidents of massacres, loot, arson and rape the police, paramilitary ansars, a government controlled Muslim militia and mobs actively participated. The attacks started on February 7, 1950 with the staffs of East Bengal Secretariat organizing a procession against the minorities. "The 'Secretariat official mob' raided the offices of Janamat the only organ of the East Bengal minorities, the East Bengal Minorities Association, the Forward Block, the Socialist Party, the Hindu Mahasabha and the Scheduled Caste Federation. The general Muslim mob took the hint from the 'official mob' and the riot broke out throughout the city". The riots which spread out from here took large parts of East Bengal under its grip resulting in massacres, loot, arson, of Hindus and Buddhists and rape and abduction of their womenfolk

Stop Islamization of America
babu_suseelan.jpgDr. Babu Suseelan
At no time in the history of our country have our safety, security, and freedom been in greater threat. There are politicians blindly willing to cede our country's future to Jihadis for empty promise. Now more than ever, Americans from all walks of life need to understand the real history of Islam, how it operates and its hidden agenda and sinister plans.Someone once said that to be born free is a privilege. To die free is an awesome responsibility, because freedom is never free. We have to pay a heavy price to practice it, preserve it and promote it. We stand here as free citizens of America because our forefathers knew the cost of freedom and were willing to pay for it. Where will tomorrow be,  if we do not come forward and  pay the price? It is important to remember that freedom is not free until we fight for it.John Quincy Adams said "you will never know how much it has cost my generations to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it

India Less Sovereign than USA?
Amba Charan Vashishth
The disintegration of the USSR and consequential weakening of Russia has left the United States of America (USA) as the unchallenged world power. It has assumed, as some feel, the role of an international policeman acting on its own to promote its own national interests. Its adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan are a pointer to the fact. It heeded little to the world opinion which, in a great measure, was not in tune with that of USA.Till 9/11 USA cared a fig for terrorism that was causing havoc in various parts of the world. When 9/11 left USA bleeding, it did declare an open war against inhuman terrorism all over the world. It made everyone appear that it is against all the administrations and nations which are in any way, directly or indirectly, looked to be aiding or abetting terrorism. But this war practically remains confined to the shores of USA and its citizens and not beyond. It has never jumped in to wage a war against the dragon of terrorism in every country or when terror gleefully blasted the fireworks of innocent killings and havoc.

Heavenly Match

Necessity, in this case, is the mother of reinvention. Hindu almanacs, popularly called panchangs across the country, are headed for fundamental changes, with the baby steps taken by a reformist group in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. In time to come, there may be uniformity or at least agreement on certain almanac notings among the 40-odd almanac-makers in the country. Muhurats for weddings and other auspicious occasions may be fixed during the so-called inauspicious monsoon months, and certain all-India festivals may fall on the same date in a year instead of regional variations that now confuse people.Finding common ground between the numerous Hindu almanacs, almost all of them sporting up to half a dozen different versions for local populations, is a daunting task. Also a rather avant-garde one, when its initiator happens to be one of the oldest religious institutions, the Shankaracharya-in this case, the Shankaracharya of Karveer peeth in Kolhapur, Srividya Nrusinh Bharati. Five of the eight leading almanac-makers in Maharashtra deliberated on this issue last week.
