india is positively like north korea. everything is named after the 'great leader'.
i understand bombay's bandra worli sea link is now called 'rajiv gandhi setu'. oh, lovely.
i understand that chennai's IT highway, the old mahabalipuram road, is now called 'rajiv gandhi road'.
is there anything in india that is not named after this guy, or his mother, or her father?
i propose that india be renamed as (drum roll...) 'rajivstan'. yeah, just like 'pakistan'. so that the indian ocean can be renamed the 'southwest china sea', reflecting what the chinese think it is.

as a step towards naming Bhaarat as 'rajivstan' the state of Uttar Pradesh can now be renamed as Rahulgarh :D
I dont know for what reason national urban renewal mission is named after Nehru. I also dont know why medical university is named after Rajiv gandhi; i hope i am not ignorant about Rajiv's doctor degree.
Nagarahole forest is named as sanjay gandhi national forest. Did Sanjay ever visit this remote forest or at least a resort in it? i doubt.
Well, a dose at the end - how about naming the constitutional position of prime minister as 'Gandhi Seat' as the family thinks it is their right? ;-)
we all live on Planet Sonia and breathe Nehrugen to keep us alive.
Incidentally- where is that Baalu blighter - which engineering college did Rajiv go to? no. no questions this time. of course - no Hindu symbol to tear down
The word 'Nehru' means canal or gutter in Kashmiri it seems. That explains why there are open gutters all across India since this land belongs to the First Family.
The same reason why IIM Gauhati is named after this blunder.
With over 500 public policies, roads, colleges, etc. named after only 3-4 individuals, way to go for self glorification and sycophancy. Mayawati you are starting late, you have a long way to go.
Here is the complete list of this vulgarity: http://satyabhashnam.blogspot.com/2009/05/schemes-nehru-gandhi-family-misuse.html
kapi, i believe 'neher' means 'stream'. the nehrus were ferrymen is one version i have heard.
the other version is that 'ganga dhar' (note that there is no 'nehru', that is the full name) was a mohammedan, giyazuddin ghazi, in disguise. 'ganga dhar' is supposed to be their family patriarch. apparently, after the british sacked delhi in 1857 and started beating up on the mohammedans, giyazuddin, who was a kotwal in delhi, ran away and reincarnated as 'ganga dhar'. adding credence to this is the fact that the only known portrait of 'ganga dhar' shows him in a full pathan outfit. hardly likely that a hindu kashmiri would spend a fortune on a photograph decked out in a beard and pathan clothes. implication: 'ganga dhar' was a pathan, period.
Thx Rajeev. They also say that Indira Gandhi's husband was Feroze Khan and not Feroze Gandhi. Which brings up the question, if the First Family had muslim blood in them from Giyazuddin or Feroze, then why did Sanjay Gandhi go after the muslims with his forced sterilizationn plan?
don't know if sanjay particularly went after mohammedans or just after slum-dwellers in general. but if one mohammedan was sterilized they and the media would have made 500 times more noise than if 10,000 hindus were sterilized.
Re: PATHANS
People from NWFP were known as Pathans and that included Hindus too. Of course, that was before Pakistan was created.
The first family of Bollywood, the Kapoors; are Pathans. Anyone ever doubted their being Hindus? I know a few staunch Hindus with roots from these areas, who are proud of being Pathans.
Of course, this is not to dispute your claim about the descent of the Nehru family.
Kapoors are not "Pathans" ethnically.
Kapoor is a Panjabi Khatri name.
The Hindus who were in NWFP & Afghanistan are mostly Panjabi migrants who went there under Maharaja Ranjit Singh's reign.
Pathans speak a foreign language not related to Sanskrit & have a large amount of foreign blood in them.
