goldman sachs, the great american bubble machine: rolling stone

jul 4th, 2009

yup, happy independence day, america!

the web version of this at

is an excerpt, but it does give the full story. i have read the full piece, and it is pretty damning, although sometimes it does go over the top a little, blaming goldman sachs for pretty much everything.

but it *is* true the goldman sachs alumni are everywhere, generally seen either handing out or receiving billions of taxpayer dollars (when they are not busy enjoying their $200 million golden parachutes).

if the 'american disease' has been that they have ceased to actually make anything, but just push money around, then goldman sachs is probably the virus one could blame.

Love Matt Taibbi. His pieces on the Hillary and Republican 2008 campaigns (McCain, Palin) going down in flames were hilarious.

Over the weekend though, a friend of mine told me about Obama's pandering and how sick it made him. He agrees with some pundit that commented that "at this rate we'll see our grand-daughters wear burkhas in America."

Anyone catch the interview with Dawn newspaper where Obama professes his love for Urdu poetry? Jon Stewart (Daily Show) had a segment on that.
