Though the Focus and goal as a ministry is to reach the 2.7 billion people who have never heard about the love of God (proselytisation intent, what else?)In India alone, there are over 500,000 villages. Most of the donations go toward relief work, rural development, medicine and education. "Maintenance of priests/preachers/other religious functionaries" is 15th on the list of purposes, receiving $21 million dollars of all foreign funding. Of the fifteen top donor agencies given eight are Christian, seven are secular and none are Hindu.
Following are the examples of intent given by these organizations themselves. Gospel Missions of India (GMI), "stays abreast of the work of the missionaries and ministries in India to ensure that gifts are faithfully invested for the Lord's work". Gospel for Asia is a Texas-based Christian missionary organization whose, "Focus and goal as a ministry is to reach the 2.7 billion people in the 10/40 window who have never heard about the love of God. In India alone, there are over 500,000 villages with no Gospel witness." These paragraphs are self explanatory about the real intent which is proselytisation through use of these funds. It is not service for the sake of service as the ground reality in Bharat shows.

I request all netizens to go to Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia. Mallu priests in collaboration with some American Baptists are indulging in anti-India and anti-Hindu propaganda on that site.

Catholic nuns and monks decline
The Vatican has reported a further dramatic fall in the number of Roman Catholic monks and nuns worldwide.
Newly published statistics showed that the number of men and women belonging to religious orders fell by 10% to just under a million between 2005 and 2006.
During the pontificate of the late Pope John Paul II, the number of Catholic nuns worldwide declined by a quarter.
The downward trend accelerated despite a steady increase in the membership of the Catholic Church to more than 1.1bn.
However, correspondents say even this failed to keep pace with the overall increase in world population.
Dramatic fall
On the back page of its official newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, the Vatican published on Monday new statistics revealing that between 2005 and 2006 the number "members of the consecrated life" fell by just under 10%.
The number of members, predominantly women, some engaged only in constant prayer, others working as teachers, health workers and missionaries, fell 94,790 to 945,210.
Of the total, 753,400 members were women, while 191,810 were men, including 136,171 priests and 532 permanent deacons.
The figures were published next to a report of Pope Benedict XVI's meeting with nuns, monks and priests from many countries gathered in St Peter's Basilica in Rome last weekend.
The BBC's David Willey in the Italian capital says the accelerating downward trend must have caused concern to the Pope.
The Roman Catholic Church has an aging and diminishing number of parish and diocesan clergy and this latest fall is quite dramatic, our correspondent says.
The number of Catholic nuns worldwide declined by about a quarter during the reign of Pope John Paul, and this further drop shows that new recruits are failing to replace those nuns who die, or decide to abandon their vows, he adds.

Add to the list: “CARE” a Christian “aid agency” that has quite a clout with USAID and the United Nations; and “Catholic relief Services”.
These two have been "working with state governments in eight states": Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa, UP and Andhra Pradesh.
In 2002-2003, CARE and CRS had sought permission to import 23,000 metric tonnes of corn-soya blend as “food aid”. The “aid” was said to be worth $100 million.
In spite of heavy pressure from the US, Government of India rejected the US offer of this “food aid”. The corn-soya blend was suspected to contain genetically-modified corn (for more information, google for “Starlink”), which had NOT been approved for human consumption in the US itself. The inter-ministerial “genetic engineering approval committee” (GEAC) of the govt of India had considered the matter in detail and recommended rejection of the aid offer.
What the US government hoped to achieve through the so-called charitable aid was:
(1) to bail out the corn industry in the USA, including the GM company Aventis that developed the said GM corn;
(2) and to help promote the evangelical activities of the Christian “charitable” organizations, CARE and CRS. CARE and CRS could also have covertly or openly sold the imported material to food manufacturers in India. All this would have been nothing less than STEALTHY, TREACHEROUS USE OF SO-CALLED "CHARITY" FOR PROSELYTIZATION AND CONVERSION.
It hardly mattered to the US government if Indians ate the Starlink corn which contained a toxic protein called Cry9C. The same toxic protein could have been the cause of reported mass death of sheep grazing on Bt-cotton.
To repeat the well-known saying: "Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty".
Can VHP & BD ensure north indians perform Chaat Puja in Maharastra?
Will they support reservations for backward hindus in jobs in order to achieve all round Hindu development?
Will VHP/BD pass resolution to allow all caste hindus to become priests in temples?
Will they request a ban on a forced language like english and promote Hindi?
How many of us are ready to dump the forced language english and use only hindi with immediate effect?
The comment above reminds me of xenophobic gandi & mass charka spinning & shoonyashoonyashoonya new dhilli.
Spare me please, give me English anyday as I prefer it to hindi. What a torture those school years were with the listless yawning teacher exhorting us for the umpteenth time with:
" pusthak dekho , pusthak dekho "
Pursuit of one's mother tongue is laudable as is Sanskrit. But I reserve the right to choose between English or hindi.Enough of this language chauvinism.
The seemingly anti hindi dmk leader's son is named stalin.
