Well, it looks like the reports were false. Tata has said that it is not in talks with Embraer for any joint venture.
Too bad, as this would have been quite the vault forward for both Tata and India, if it had been true.
Oh well, you never know, some other Indian company might go that route.

I think on the same plane (no pun) out IT services industry also should look forward to Brazil, mainly due to the following two reasons:
1. Near shore (to US) outsourcing is picking up momentum, so to stay competitive, it is imperative we take this route.
2. Indian engineers after 3-5 years of experience, do not want to continue to being techie, they want to become leads or PMs. That gap definitely shows up in the productivity and quality with fresh folks. (colonial thinking???) or More money? If it is later, the Companies have to define a technology profession career roadmap very soon.
