Srinagar Municipal corporation to kill 100,000 dogs

Srinagar (PTI): Concerned over the increasing population of stray dogs in the city, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will launch a drive to kill more than one lakh such dogs at the end of this month.

"We have set a target of killing more than one lakh stray dogs in Srinagar city. The drive is likely to begin in a fortnight's time," health officer of SMC, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, told PTI.

"We have to carry out this measure in order to make this city safe for human beings ... At the moment, it looks like the dogs are ruling the roost," he said.

Dar said there had a large number of dog bite cases over the past couple of years in the city. It has become difficult for the children to move around without fear. They are scared to go to schools even ... Even the grown ups are scared of moving out of their homes for pre-dawn and post-dusk prayers, he said

Feel the love. Does anyone sense some irony in this at all? "Make the city safe for human beings" Indeed. After the successful religious cleansing of 500,000 Kashmiri Pandits, the Jihadis are turning their hateful attention to man's best friend. And it is in total conformance with the exemplary standards of "compassion" and "humanitarianism" established by the prophet of this binary cult who had declared that "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or there are pictures."

I object to mindless cruelty to animals and as a dog lover, find the slaughter of 100,000 dogs particularly revolting. There have been numerous distasteful instances of Mohammedan cab drivers in Britain, Australia, Norway, Minnesota, USA refusing to transport people with dogs, even blind people with guide dogs due to this koranic injunction. Here's some nuggets of wisdom from the ideology that inspires the barbarism.

"Once Gabriel promised the Prophet (that he would visit him, but Gabriel did not come) and later on he said, 'We, angels, do not enter a house which contains a picture or a dog.'" (Bukhari, vol. 4, bk. 54, no. 450)

"Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: What about them, i. e. about other dogs? and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time." (Sahih Muslim, bk. 2, no. 551)

Despite being a Dog lover myself, i don't find this revolting.

Indeed, this must be done in other indian cities as well -- including Mumbai.

Mumbai has over 400,000 stray dogs (count it 400,000 -- half the population of bahrain!!). They bite, are vicious and highly territorial and bark throughout the night in shrill, cacophonic competitive barking bouts.

No civilised country puts up with this kind of nonsense.

In fact, dogs in mumbai represent a highly pampered "minority" amply supported by several no-good NGOs and bleeding hearts (of the bindi-jhola variety). These NGOs have successfully converted a public health issue into a moral one, with the HC summarily suspending all dog culling.

Kids get bitten all the time, and the municipality, unable to afford PCEC vaccines gives the old, sheep brain vaccine that every now and then causes paralysis.

But no, the rights of mangy street dogs overrule the rights of tax paying citizens to a good night's sleep.

True story to support AGworld's point:

In 2001, in the Bangalore edition of the TOI, the main headline was about 10 stray dogs that were killed in a shelter due to flooding caused by rains.

On the same page was a small piece in the rightmost column, on the killing of 16 BSF Jawans by Bangladeshi forces!

AGWorld, etc. I do not dispute the need for population control of the stray canines - But, there are more humane methods - like sterilisation, of accomplishing that instead of the preferred Mohammedan modus operandi of brutal butchery. We are a Hindu nation - Sino-Islamic cruelty to animals is not our tradition.
For example, one reason Koreans are not to be trusted is their slaughter of dogs for meat. And there was a revolting instance of an injured Dolphin being washed ashore and being beaten to death by those precious Bangladeshi Mohammedans.
Come to think of it, brutal extermination of dogs would be just as barbaric if practised by "Gandhians" in Bangalore or "Dravidians" in Madras. The ability to exercise discretion is what distinguishes us human beings from neanderthals and Hindus from Jihadi butchers.
If the yardstick of rabidity automatically inviting brutal extermination is carried to it's logical conclusion, guess which rabid section of savages will need to be exterminated? Would the dhimmi Nehru/Gandhian state stand for that? It has been pathetically ineffective even in terms of controlling the exploding population of the nation's enemies, what to speak of coercice measures like sterilisation...
