Trust Deepens for U.S.-India Defense Cooperation

And it should be welcomed. There exists a deficit of trust between the two nations, created largely by the idiotic policies of the Nehruvian Stalinists and also those of the arrogant Atlanticist persuasion in the U.S State Department. India and America do have converging interests in a few areas, particularly confronting the menace of pan-Islamic terrorism. Unlike the Yankee relationship with the Pakis where they can dictate terms, this will necessarily have to involve some give and take.

MMS has committed a serious blunder by staking everything on the disingenuous nuclear "deal". That deal needs to be buried and re-negotiated on honourable terms that preserves India's nuclear deterrent and strategic autonomy of action. After all, the "Hindoo bomb" constitutes no threat to America or the West. It is purely a defense mechanism to preserve the freedom of the most colonised country in world history from rapacious neighbours. The Yankee "non-proliferation" Taliban needs to understand this.

Even if the nuke deal were to die an unceremonious death, there is enough room for meaningful cooperation provided the Yanks restrain their evangelical conquistadors and muzzle hateful propaganda by the likes of Biju Mathew. The UPA dhimmis in India can also start by firing the MOPLAH BUTCHER and Hamas agent in chief in India, E. Ahamed who has been elevated to a Junior minister for Foreign affairs. That and cessation of unwarranted rhetoric on "Palestine", "Root causes of Islamic terror", "Iran's right to develop nukes" etc emanating from dhimmi babudom in New Delhi would be a good start.

Wishful thinking?

I agree with you. It's particularly in the business sector where Americans are most open-minded and less likely to be entrenched in prejudices, as compared to Foggy Bottom and the US Congress. We need to emulate the US model for aerospace and defense pursuits, building up our own community of defense contractors, who can fulfill not just our own domestic orders, but orders from around the world. Looking beyond the IT pond, the fact is that Indians can do a wide variety of engineering where we offer good quality for the value. Man does not live by software alone. Just as we are trying to break into chip-building, we should also be looking at all other areas of high-end/hi-tech manufacturing. These too are knowledge-based businesses, and are a natural expansion beyond information technology. So let's not keep ourselves bottled up inside of IT, when there are all kinds of quality engineering that we can do. It's a matter of establishing the relationships and providing the value, so that customers will keep coming to us for more and more things.

Americans are incredibly great and fair-minded individuals. They are misguided in some respects, but you'll never meet a friendlier nicer group of people. If someone doesn't have anything to eat, they will gladly give half of what's on their plate.

We should educate Americans aggressively to make them understand that we Indians face the same exact problems---islamist terror, Chinese threat, and other problems.

We also need to stand steadfast on the issue of religious tolerance and freedom. Many Americans do admit that their govt has been hijacked by a bunch of evangelical hypocrites---yell "Jesus Saves" and then proposition little boys in the bathroom and sell drugs.

We can definitely build a better and stronger relationship that can benefit BOTH nations.
