Kazakhstan and China Deadlock Over Depletion of a Major Lake - New York Times

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/08/world/asia/08kazakhstan.html?_r=1&ref=asia&oref=slogin

The inscrutable Chinese are now doing the Kazhaks. This is the future of the Brahmaputra valley and the Gangetic plane as well. All of North India will soon be turned into an arid desert by the Hans and their 'Go West' policy. India will once again become the imperial plaything of another world power - only this time there will be no chance to return

As soon as the Chinese take over, they will shoot 'Marigold Brothers' - Yechuri & Karat ; who will die singing Hosannas to Panditji for ceding Tibet to the communist revolution!!!

What can we do. We are helpless against china. Next war between us will only result in complete decimation of India. Hamne machchar kee tarak masal denge.

I once read that the 1962 war disaster had such an effect on us that our MOD never even considers we have a chance against them.

I hate Chinese more than Pakis. We are stupid to bloat the importance of Pakistan. Our real enemy is China.

in case you missed it.

At Rtd.General K. Sundarji never accepted this. He was confidant that India could take on both Pakistan and its sponsors in China simultaneously.

He actually claimed this in central cabinet meeting, if you believe that India Today report.

The real problem is the continual psychological slavery that binds Indian politicians in a morbid of China, and even its stooge...Pakistan. India would have won 1962 war also had our crypto-communist PM let Indian air force attack chinese positions.

Kapidhwaja,

I like your confidence. So what if it is badly misplaced. What next, India can give a fight to US also if they go on war.

Look at their spending in defense.
They are rapidly modernising.

China has missiles to reach every nook and corner of india. India as of yet don't have that capability.

In conventional warfare also they are bigger.

Plus the biggest reason is that unlike India, China does not carry the baggage of political correctness etc. They are focused on their goal and do whatever to achieve it.

You seem to be smarter than me. Why don't you educate me. Deal?

Hey Indianpatriot,

Do I know you? I don't seem to have responded to you ever. Are
you confusing me with Siva. Your
above reply indicates that there is a long running flame war here.
I am still new to this blog (I mean the comment section).

I have never got into TN KK war.

As regards China, all we have is misplaced confidence. Few months back China made some remark about border which sissy indians never responded. Now few days back they made another remark
(http://ia.rediff.com/news/2007/mar/07china.htm ). Again we kept quiet. Had it been Pakistan by now we would roared like a lion.

You see we can not beat China by hatred. 1962 was a crushing defeat for us, something which haunts our defence even now.

Unless we have long range missiles capable of peneterating deep inside china, it is a no contest.
Even if we remove nukes out of equation and fight them in conventional war, they can thrash us.

Look at the way they are diverting brahamputra. What are we doing, except shitting in the pants.

While our army took a beating at Chinese hands in the Western Ladakh sector, in the Eastern sector, the story was different. In fact, in the epic Battle of Walong(Arunachal Pradesh), about 750 Indian soldiers, poorly fed and ill-equipped, gave a far numerically superior Chinese force the licking of its life. Over 4,500 Chinese were made to pay with their lives. This sheer Indian heroism saved Arunachal and much of India's North East from being gobbled up by the thuggish Mao Tse Tung, a fact most Indians are not aware of, and one which the Leftist media tries to deliberately suppress. The epic Battle of Walong was reported upon by TIME magazine, for referernce. By the way, China's surprise attempt on Tawang in 1986 was well taken care of by the late Gen. K. Sundarji. The 1986 fiasco isn't something China would want to remember.

By the way Tambi do you believe that the LTTE would also be "shitting in the pants" while facing China?

LTTE????
It is gratifying to know that how indians instantly jump to conclusions about a person based on his nick. I am a tamil but not from TN. Also I hate LTTE. I despise any organization which believes in violence, using children in war and coercing others to shell out money for their freedom struggle. Toronto has lot of such examples.

Tambi,

I do not care if you love LTTE or not. I am also not commenting on your morals or anything like that.

My concern was with the "shitting in the pants" meaning "people are terrified and scared". What I asked was whether LTTE would be "terrified and scared" (putting it more politely) irrespective of what your opinion is about them.

The reason I asked is that the next question was going to be - Do you believe that the Gurkhas, Kumaonis, Marathas, Rajputs, Sikhs, Dogras etc. etc. are any less capable? If they are equally competent why do you then still believe that everyone will be "terrified and scared" (One again it does not matter if you love or hate Gurkhas,Kumaonis....)
Let me tell you the only people who are terrified and scared are the Indian political leadership class - rest will surprise anyone who underestimates them.

Most of the wars that the British fought and won all over the world were with Indian soldiers.

What was your opinion about the Walong post?

If we can not take care of much smaller pakistan despite 60yrs of nuisance, how do hell are we expected to believe that we can put up a fight with china.

How long has Pak been aiding terrorism in kashmir. What has been our resposne.

If you blame all this on political leadership, what makes you think that PL will not be in the equation during a war with china.

In my experience, while discussing this topic of india china war, most of the indians shoot off from mouth more out of assumption and hope than any ground reality.

tambi,

Let me state point by point so you can answer each point separately instead of cherry picking and setting up strawman arguments

1. What was your opinion about the Walong post that I made earlier?

2. Most of the wars that the British fought and won all over the world were with Indian soldiers - and they won all over the world. Why do you think those "Indian" soldiers won then?

3. You are soooo confused. You compare Pakistan sponsored terrorism with openly declared warfare. These are two different beasts. In open warfare we have always defeated the Pakistanis (4-5 times).

4. How we respond to internal terrorism does not indicate how our army will fight on the border.

4. You say "If we can not take care of much smaller pakistan despite 60yrs of nuisance, how do hell are we expected to believe that we can put up a fight with china."
Questions about your statement.
q1. Could you please define "Take Care of Pakistan"
q2. Suppose by some miracle the entire state of Pakistan gets swallowed up by the sea? Does that solve our problem with the ideology propagated by the "religion" of Islam?
q3. For the last 5 years most of the terror incidents in the West had a Pakistani hand. What have they been able to do about Pakistan?

I will answer my own question that I raised earlier since you will not be answering it.
The LTTE will NOT be "shitting in its pants" if fighting aginst China - for the simple reason that they never did "shitting in pants" when fighting Indian Army. There are severla other groups in India who are equally capable as LTTE if they are pushed into a corner.

Here is an article about Chinese opinion of India
""I am surprised that Indians have topped the Forbes' list of Asian billionaires," Chen Yu, a media consultant said.
"I must change my distorted impressions about India," she said.

Notice that the Chinese being intelligent people can change their opinion when contrary facts are presented. You on the other hand....
You have a preset opinion and deliberately ignore facts that contradict this opinion. In my book this is called "prejudice"
