iit alumni are giving back to the old school

mar 3rd, 2007

this is laudable. my class at iitm collected a fair amount of money. we also had a couple of high-net-worth individuals who gave big bucks too.

we should. we owe. we paid something like rs. 100 tuition fee and rs. 200 room rent. not in a month. in a year!

Guys, what is your first priority? Country? Hinduism? Technology? or just IIT? With the likes of Arjunsingh forcing policies from top, would you bet your money on IITs?

Perhaps, it is time for all like-minded Indian NRIs to fund a greenfield university project at a place where market forces, rather than political compulsions decided education policies. Indian students can learn through the internet.

Private money given to Non-autonomous IITs might not really qualify as 'Satpatra Daan' as per the definition in Hindu scriptures (Bhagvad Geeta?)
