elst fisks tony joseph on AIT

http://www.pragyata.com/mag/genetics-and-the-aryan-invasion-debate-367

characteristically thorough, and elst wisely keeps away from dabbling in the genetics part himself as he is no expert

Here's an interesting article on how farming only came to India 10000 years ago:

No one stated ever this before, but it is true:

"There exists a casteist-racist fringe among Brahmins who feel flattered by the claim that they descend from foreign conquerors and that they imposed the caste system as a racial Apartheid system".

san, 10,000 years is a very long time ago. the first instances of rice cultivation in the subcontinent are from mehrgarh at the foot of the bolan pass in baluchistan around 7000 BCE (sort of the same time frame). it is believed that they domesticated rice there. this is the first i have heard of "Aryan" invaders bringing rice with them. i suspect this is 'circular reasoning': the researchers assumed "Aryans" brought farming from iran, and lo! they found data that suggested that "Aryans" brought farming from iran. QED, jai ho!
