1. India shd not be in a hurry to settle dispute with China by arun shourie 4/5/15 http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/at-the-least-we-should-not-fool-ourselves-arun-shourie/

My take – China is interested in keeping India on tenterhooks and will negotiate from a position of strength.

3. Modi and the Chinese question editorial MINT 5/5/15 http://www.livemint.com/Opinion/9DrwFFJovceVSokv91R6gN/Narendra-Modi-and-the-Chinese-question.html. 'Modi should be cognizant of the gravity of the border dispute'.

4. Xi's visit to Russia etc by Xinhua 5/5/15 http://en.people.cn/n/2015/0505/c90883-8887393.html. 'During Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming trip to Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, a highlight would be his attendance at the Victory Day commemoration in Mosocw, which demonstrates China's determination to safeguard the post-WWII world order. Xi is also set to deepen win-win cooperation with the three nations, push forward the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt while seeking common development with existing economic belt initiatives.'

My take – amongst the busiest gainers from Cold War post Ukraine is China. Both Russia and China want to show the U.S. down.

5. How do the land bill, Yemen and Nepal test the Indian spirit 5/5/15 by brijesh jayal http://www.telegraphindia.com/1150505/jsp/opinion/story_18163.jsp#.VUeHBJOkN-w

7. 5 things Modi must remember about China by srikanth k 4/5/15 http://www.rediff.com/news/column/5-things-modi-should-understand-about-china/20150504.htm

9. Who feels envy to India's relief work in Nepal 4/5/15 by ashutosh bhatia http://www.indiandefencereview.com/news/who-feels-envy-to-indias-relief-work-in-nepal/
'Dahal, Baidhya and Bijukchhe told Koirala that "India was posing serious threat to national security and its activities should be contained," Annapura Post daily reported. Ignoring immense help extended by India, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal reportedly said in this meeting that the "activities of the Indian forces are not helpful in relief distribution"- touching new heights of ungratefulness.
While the unease in rival countries over fabulous humanitarian relief mission by India is understandable, the pattern within the country is disturbing and unfortunate. Should personal ideologies of individuals and political parties blind us to the extent that we ignore India's strategic interests and become so irresponsible and go on ridiculing the tireless efforts put in by our soldiers? Tell me if it happens anywhere.'

My take – Kandhar Hijack 1999, 26/11/ Mumbai, Valley Floods and now Nepal. Who is going to reign in the Media esp TV News channels.

And yet Shourie was not able to prevent Vajpayee from recognizing Chinese control over Tibet, in spite of being in his cabinet. :P
