Many have commented on the unprofessionalism and uncouthness of Rahul's sudden outburst against Manmohan over the Ordinance allowing those charged with criminal cases to hold their seats. But what about the opportunities Rahul created from it? By getting the Ordinance revoked and effectively throwing Lalu under a bus, Rahul may have paved the way for further alignment between Congress and Nitish's JD(U). This may mean that Congress wants Nitish to be their mascot to lead UPA. Or it may simply mean bolstering Nitish sufficiently to embolden him in taking on BJP more aggressively in Bihar.

In politics there is no permanent friend or foe. Nitish thought BJP is weak. Now after seeing the wave Modi is creating he may be hesitant. Nonsence act by Pappu is a necessity not designed to lure nitish. Congress need to save its skin as President was about to reject the ordinance.
