This guy was consistently anti India and anti Hindu as the Economist rep in Delhi. Now he has written about India using the imperial curse (cricket).

Dear friends and acquaintances
I am delighted to invite you to the Delhi launch of my book on India
and cricket - "The Great Tamasha: Cricket, Corruption and the
Turbulent Rise of Modern India". It will be hosted by the British
Council on August 21st; kindly presided over by Messrs Arun Jaitley and
Shekhar Gupta. I attach the invitation, including further details of the
launch.
The Great Tamasha is my effort to describe and say some important
things about India through the prism and idiom of cricket. It is not a
sports book in any conventional sense. It has more history, politics,
business and great heaving social change in it than meditation on
Sachin's square drive (though there is some of that, too…).
The book was released a month ago in the UK, US and elsewhere and has
been received very gratifyingly by the critics. Its release has been
delayed in India to allow for some modest updating, regarding the latest
turbulence in the BCCI.
I do very much hope you can make the launch tamasha. Either way, I
would be immensely grateful if you would let Anurima Roy of Bloomsbury
know whether we can expect to see you. Please email her at:
Anurima.Roy@Bloomsbury.com
Best wishes
James Astill
