economic cost of japan quake rises

the bad news just doesn't stop for japan.

there will continue to be a series of aftershocks as well. these will diminish in numbers rapidly (ie fewer and fewer per week) but their intensity will not degrade that much. 7.1, 7.4 -- these are actually huge quakes in and of themselves.

but i am confident the japanese will recover and their economy will recover. but at the cost of thousands dead and millions homeless.
