Indian students in Australia make a massive contribution to the Australian economy.

It is estimated that one lakh Indian students are studying in Australia. Most of them pay hefty fees for the courses.

Assuming that each student spends around Rs 20 lakh for a two-year course, including tuition, travel, stay and food — as a conservative estimate — the total comes to Rs 20,000 crore.

I am not familiar with Kerala, can you shed some light on the above comment?

Extract from There’s racism Down Under

Education being Australia’s third-largest export, it’s in the interest of Mr Rudd and his Education Minister, Ms Julia Gillard, to ensure they get the best return from an increasing number of overseas students. Despite the outbursts, Indians will not stop seeking their fortune in a developed White country.

malavika, here's what happened.

the limey 'resident' in travancore, one missionary named munro, forced the queen to give rs. 10,000 to the christist church in 1819. they used this money to go on massive conversion efforts.

% of christists in travancore, 1819: 6%
% of christists in travancore, 1919: 33%

that rs. 10,000 is worth several hundred million rupees after 300 years.

so the hindus paid several hundred million rupees to the missionaries to create 10 million christists in kerala.
