But Brahma Chellaney posits that India has a long term strategic fit with the US. I do not think this is the case at all. What after Trump? In fact, deep state shenanigans will continue even during Trump's term. That is, if he manages to avoid assassination to get to his term.

Rapprochement with China from a position of strength is crucial for the survival of India as a nation. Rapprochement with India is crucial for China's survival as a nation. If India becomes an Islamic country (which likelihood is not too far away - maybe 15 years), China will have to contend with the biggest army of mad jehadis along with 40-50 nukes that will take out its Southern provinces. Hope for our sake, Ping Ping realizes this, and his current retreat is not merely tactical.

At best we can have détente with China, before they eventually come at us again at some later date. They are not to be trusted. Fool Me Once, Shame On You, Fool Me Twice, Shame On Me

the US has been diminishing itself since the 1990s by pandering to china and by nurturing wokeness. I think both have come to an end, trump or no trump. the deep state has only one playbook: regime change. even if they bump trump off, I don't think they can stop the anti-Dem backlash or the anti-war backlash. we just witnessed the end of the woke century and a point of inflection (I hope). china is facing its own point of inflection: they have peaked, I believe.
