Chidambaram will not oblige simply because he does not need to.. India does not really have an opposition party that can hold his feet to fire. As Arun Shourie noted, a dog with bone in its mouth can not bark. And BJP is "overblessed" in this aspect. The party that did not even squeak in protest when MMS declared an extension and formalisation of Sharm El Sheikh can hardly be expected to raise any question on Chidambaram. They are thoroughly compromised. Next, probably Congress would launch a pan India version of MNS - and do to BJP at national level what it has done to Shiv Sena at state level. Finally dogs will find out that there are no more bones as Madam will throw them out of lunchroom.

Rajiv had earlier noted that the fight for Dharma is never completely won - that's true. But Big Joke Party will prove that though it's beyond their capability to win even partially, it's eminently possible to lose totally. That will be an unfortunate death of Indian conservatism - but BJP would thoroughly deserve that..
