My Name is Karan(Johar), And I Am a Racist
Everyone is so busy commenting on "My Name is Khan" for its standup portrayal of Muslims, that they're overlooking its racially demeaning portrayal of African Americans. The film provides us more insight into Karan Johar's perception of Black America than any other social commentary he cares to make.

am no fan of Karan johar.. but calling him racist seems lil too harsh..
may be stupid, ignorant (a.k.a like any bollywood..is more like it)
btw...arent all Bollywood directors, actors and even viewers guilty of this attitude..
how many times have we seen stereotypical and patently wrong potrayal of Indians from north east, south or any other part of India..
Bollywood folks (and even all those dramas in various channels) will only make u cringe if u r not from the cow belt and/or punjab for the way they picturize people all with their loud accents, costumes and what not..Oddly enough hindi movie directors can only see the world through their Punjabi glasses (of course driving ferrari's and BMW's) and everything else in the world is blurred and/or colored...so MINK falls into the same category...just that the object of their incorrect characterization now ended up being African Americans...

Though I am no fan of SRK and Karan Johar and agree that Hindi movies portray nepalis, sikhs, south indians and marwaris etc in very racist ways, I would cut some slack when comparing to Hollywood movies. Racist stereotyping is far worse in Hollywood movies.
This guy Chhabra in the article is using Slumdog Millionnaire to compare racism... talk about pot calling the kettle.. ahem...black!!!
BTW did SRK try to sell "Fair and Lovely" to african americans in MNIK?
