i have two albums (CD) by ghayatri devi: "sacred chants vol 3" and "holy chants on shiva". these are widely available in india, and obviously there are "sacred chants vol 1, 2". the CDs i have include a number of stotrams and ashtakams, and are remixed to a modern beat, although the sanskrit chanting is exquisite and perfect. eg. mrtyunjaya stotram, dvadasha jyotirlinga smaranam, devyashtakam, mahishasura mardini stotram.

do a search on g. ghayatri devi (also uma mohan) and their musician, stephen devassy. they are attached to some ashram. they also go on tour. i believe they were at nishagandhi auditorium in trivandrum last year.

i did a cursory search and found that 'chandrasekhara ashtakam' is available as a free mp3 download ring tone for your mobile.

of course, buyer beware -- i am not recommending the download, only recommending the music itself. i suggest you write to the publisher and purchase a copy of the CD.

These and other chants are from the series called 'Sacred Chants' ( 7 part volume.)..They have rendered very beautifully most of the famous slokas and stotrams from the Vedic tradition.
They are published by Kosmic Music Chennai. You can buy them from any big music stores in India..

You can hear a ton of them on youtube...

My favorite's are their rendering og Subramanyaashtakam

and Lingashtakam
