on throwing out the wrong biatch

aug 23rd, 2009

i am reminded of an old joke:

this yank bloke got on to a train in limey-land. it was a little crowded, and there was a blimpish army type and an aging woman in the cabin. there wasn't much room, and the woman's poodle was occupying one of the seats, thereby forcing the yank to have to squeeze himself in. he tried to make eye contact with the woman but she studiously avoided him.

when the yank tried to stretch out a little, the dog started barking. he finally asked the woman: "do you mind if i move the dog and put her on the floor?". the woman replied haughtily: "of course not, muffy will stay right where she is".

the yank adjusted as much as he could, but the little mutt kept yapping at him, apparently encouraged by her mistress' attitude.

finally the yank had had enough. he picked up the shrill little mutt, and just chucked her out the window of the running train.

the woman was frozen in total shock.

but the army type piped up and said, "there you go, you yanks, always do it wrong! you drive on the wrong side of the road, you hold the fork in the wrong hand. and now you've thrown the wrong biatch out the window!"

i am reminded of this when the BJP throws jaswant out, and not kulkarni!

actually, right-wing hindus don't know that they're doing. they shot the wrong guy in the wrong year. shooting gandhi in 1948 was pointless, because he was just going to be a preachy old man that everyone would completely ignore henceforth. shooting someone else some years before would have had great positive fallout. (it is left as an exercise to the reader to figure out who and when).

very amusing - though by throwing out Kulkarni (only ELM-idiots like Rajdeep Sardesai will think he actually quit) and by managing Raje discreetly they may have begun to set things right.
Now if only they could make Advani a 'casualty' of this crisis (not in the way of shooting him - we have enough paper doll martyrs) - if that happens BJP can close its casualty ward!

I am eager to think of candidates to replace Advani. While Modi is a clear crowd favorite, the BJP may be well served to bring out a game changing surprise. Raje would not be a bad candidate - a young woman candidate to take on the 'young turks' of the Congress. Even more creative would be a complete outsider like Kiren Rijiju. It can happen - he has 5 years to learn the ropes. If only he could improve his oratorical skills, Kiren would be the perfect candidate. It would show up Congres' historical neglect of the North east, make BJP the genuine party of the dispossessed and best of all would stick a finger in China's eyes. Can you imagine a leader of the opposition from 'Tawang' - hopefully a Prime Minister next time.

Actually, Ghandi should have been shot 3 decades earlier, when he promoted Jihad in India in the form of "Khilafat".
But, I agree with you that Hindu nationalists shot the wrong guy in 1948.

Raje in front endorsed by Modi looks like the best choice now. Its' difficult to verbally attack a woman and get away with it.

Sudheendra's exit has come 13 years too late. But is welcome nevertheless.

Yes, it's a decent development.. One hopes Mr S Kulkarni-Hinduja's client Mr Advani is given a short shrift..Sometimes, the best solution is the simplest one. Mr Modi should do to the moth-eaten BJP "syndicate" what Indira Gandhi did to the Congress syndicate..I use the term moth-eaten deliberately. It's not a co-incidence that Mr advani found such Lincoln like qualities in the founder of a "moth-eaten republic".

Sorry, I did not read Ghost Writer's creative suggestion. This "marketing strategy" of getting Rijiju in a key role will definitely be agame changer.. This kind of a move would make Bill Bernbach or jack Trout proud. The added joy would be reading pontifications in Hindoo on how India should not rile it's "peaceful" idyllic monk like neighbour who merely killed 5/10 crore of its own citizens in Bamboo gulag..Bring it on any day :)

Govindacharya is also a suitable choice

Advani still seems reluctant to roll up his tent. Wants to roll up the party before that hey?
