krishna palepu on the role of boards

a little ironic, considering he was on satyam's board.

but then, i think we mustn't be too hard on the independent directors. they only see what the officials of the company put in front of them, and they couldn't possibly delve too deep into the books.

also, poor professor rammohan rao of the ISB, another satyam director, seems to have been forced to resign the dean position at the ISB, and he has resigned from various other panels that the government had instituted.
