By and large deal is good for india . Indian negotiators would have dane much better job if it had not been a "must do" situation
for congress, before election.

What is this " no first use "?

Once nuked , would anyone be alive in the first place to miaow...er to kooondemn this dastardly....

IB no first use is an assurance that we won't be starting the nuke war. As for being alive, our chain of command ensures that even when PM or the govt gets wiped out, other persons in the chain of command will take the decision to retaliate. It is to be noted that our second strike policy is very comprehensive and goes beyond an eye-for-an-eye crap. It is actually whole body for an eye. Unfortunately with Pakis even this is not enough as they are desperate enuf to be suicidal. Wasn't there an interview of a medium ranked Pak army personnel to an American journalist where he said that if he was the army head he would nuke one/two indian cities and get ready to see whole pakistan nuked and destroyed. his remark was "we don't have anything, but at least before getting destroyed we can teach india a lesson".

scary.

tambidude,

I think you are overestimating India with your " whole body for an eye ".

Only recently India was caught unawares with ruthless firing and kidnapping of an entire family in Jammu.Don't forget the saga of hijacking of our flight. Also keep in mind the poor salaries and a whole lot of legitimate grievances of our men in uniform.

Years earlier I recall someone had written a book based on intelligence gathered that should India be nuked , would likely resort to conventional warfare.
