Ever wondered what might be the correct "Islamic" way to beat your wife, or what a Saudi princess's greatest wish might be if she were king?
The wires were buzzing Thursday with reports of "oohs" and "ahs" from the elitist World Economic Forum gathering in Davos, Switzerland, complete with applause for a Saudi royal princess, Lolwah al-Faisal, after she asserted that her first executive move would be to "let women drive."
Amazingly, according to the Associated Press news dispatch on this lame comment, the audience erupted in applause.
How can what passes as an elemental right in today's world — when uttered by a Saudi female belonging to the most oppressive, religiously fanatical ruling family in the world — be treated as a sign of progress in a kingdom of darkness?

HABC you should not be surprised to see conversion agenda on CNN-IBN site. There seems to be a spurt of conversion related programming on mainstream Indian cable channels such as STAR PLUS etc. I don't know how many have you seen ad for a TV serial meant for kids in which a kid sees an image of Mary on a door or something, he is being made fun of by clearly Hindu kids (wearing tilak)but he sticks with his beliefs. Then I also saw an ad for a serial in which a sick hindu girl is not being allowed by her father to pray to Jesus, but she does it anyway and as a result gets well (or her mother something like that). I don't have satellite TV but I got glimpses of these while visiting some of my friends houses. And these are not religious channels like CBN etc.
Has anybody else noticed that too?
Then of course we have whole Bollywood industry on full fledged Hindu bashing agenda led ably by likes of Sanjay Leela Bhansali whose no movie is complete without some serious bible thumping.
Then there is more subtle bashing of Hindu icons like Rajputs and Brahmins, in movies like "Dor" where a young widow is being pimped out by her Rajput father-in-law only to be saved by a Muslim yes Muslim woman.

I wonder if this can be directed toward some research funding? US decides to end all aid to 'rising' India
Washington's decision for fiscal '08 saves New Delhi the embarrassment of asking US to end its so-called financial assistance, much of which simply went towards administering the USAID operations in India.

The main motivation of attack against Hindus has always been economic. After the British took over, the raids on the Mandirs and the attacks on Hindu Kings changed into land grab. Temple land grab was always a routine affair. Hitting at the economic streams of Hindus is the most modern method and it shows up everywhere. Enforcing reservations is one simple way to block Hindu economic progress. Just imagine how many Educational institutes Hindus would have started and controlled but for the Political Interference and control.
Sadly, there is no Hindu organisation that understands and appreciates this. There is no evidence that rich temple bodies have invested anything in ensuring the well-being of Hindus. Hinduism is on decline not because of the aggressive others but simply because of the fact that our organisations have not been in tune with the development and changing times. If Rajeev deletes this comment, it will appear on my blog.
Another reply to San's comment. We have to acknowledge that the enemy is quite smart. It would be a big mistake to believe otherwise. The sooner we stop believing that we are the smartest, nicest, most intelligent and so on and so forth people, the better. (For example, stock market manipulation is just one route. Extortion, kidnapping, and landgrabbing are far more remunerative and risk-free routes in today's India. Make no mistake about that.)
Step back a little and think whether ideas like 'Wiping these parasites from the face of earth' are meaningful or useful. People have to step back enough and find out what little they can individually and collectively do to make the world a better and safer place. Crazy aggression, even in terms of ideas and thoughts is going to be counterproductive, please note.
