Human Spaceflight, GSLV

ISRO has decided to remove Human Spaceflight from its list of priorities, saying that it will not be proposed in the 12th plan budget:

Meanwhile, the GSLV is now in the final preparation for its launch on August 19, with an onboard video camera system having been installed:

Now, for the first time, we may actually get to see onboard footage from an Indian rocket as it ascends from the ground all the way to orbit. But the main issue of importance is of course the validation of the indigenous Cryogenic Upper Stage engine, which will enable India to loft heavier payloads to orbit.

Indeed it is the cryogenic engine that is the key feature of this mission - perhaps explains why there is video camera. I keep my fingers corssed though - this engine technology was being tested a few weeks ago.
