The Good Dalrymple: in Britain chances are only Hindu kids are not illegitimate


I am not a theist but believe in the elegance of the idea of reincarnation - which leads one to think that the good doctor may have been Hindu in his previous birth.

o.k the words he used were "indian subcontinent" but given the social break-down in the muslim 'community' in Britain - it is obvious he meant Hindu and Sikh

While I do not like to moralise - it is sad to see urban Indians emulate the worst cultural traits of the english lower class in their pre (and post) marital arrangements; and also when it comes to treating parents

on another note - the Sikhs in Britain have done even better than folks that report themselves as Hindus. I have not been able to figure out why - I suspect the Sikhs make better use of their social networks and are likely more entrepreneurial than the Hindus (who may be happier taking employment)
