Why are you hiding that this is a Hindu-Muslim riot started by Muslims(as they always do)?
I have been reading about this for a few days now, but, except for the initial trigger of 4 Bodos (Hindu or christian?) being killed by Bangladeshi Bengalis, I am unable to make out from the news reports who is killing whom, and who is burning who's houses down? Intuitively, I feel this is somehow connected to the recent violence involving Bangladeshi Bengalis (Rohingiyas) in Burma. While Indian Bengalis keep singing about their ever shrinking "Shonar Bangla", the Bangladeshi Bengalis seem to singing the "Amaaar Bangla" tune, ie. turning every place they move to into an extension of Bangladesh, and asserting themselves in new ways that has caused the local population (which had tolerated their presence until now) to react violently against them. I defintely think this merits an illuminating rediff column from you, Rajeev.
