Censoring the Internet

Apart from the sheer absurdity of policing the Internet, the "con"gress has gripped the nation with draconian oversight.

1) Keep illiteracy levels high to make the populace dependent on milk flowing from the udders of socialist largess. Think 36000 crores of NREGA money flowing down the drain every year.

2) Restriction of SMS's and Keeping a strict watch on the "activities".

3) Insistence to open up the encrypted blackberry data streams.

4) The fact that web technologies are designed to track user behavior, spineless corporations like Google or Microsoft are very likely to report "suspicious user activity" in future. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to identify anyone online despite "pseudonyms".

5) The prevailing mood that Internet is very likely to bring forth fresh ideas where the younger educated populace is going to find expression of discontent with the existing system. They would definitely want to control the system.

It seems like a script unraveling. If you can, try and use other email service providers like Runbox and Fastmail. Gmail and Hotmail are all subservient to Government interests. Avoid Facebook like sites which are giant advertising platforms really.
