Samskrita Bharati will organise a Sanskrit Book fair from Jan 7 to 10.Governor H R Bhardwaj and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the fest on January 7. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand will be honoured on the occasion.

The fest will showcase 300 new Sanskrit books of publishers and individuals from various parts of the country. Nearly 150 individual and corporate houses are expected to participate in the fair.

"Even though demand for Sanskrit books is rising steadily, the publication and distribution of such books is not yet organised. The event intends to bring them together and create a market for the Sanskrit publications," said M Rama Jois, Vice President of National Advisory Board, World Sanskrit Book Fair.

Contemporary works of prominent Sanskrit authors like Satyavrita Shastry, Radhavallabha Tripathi, Ramakaran Sharma, Abhiraja Rajendra Mishra, H R Vyas, Janaradana Hegde would be launched. Panel discussions, sessions on the knowledge heritage of India would be held at National College Grounds.
