Hello Rajeev:
Presume all is well. Here is an inspiring story regarding the revival of the ancient chariot festival at the tiruvidaimarudur temple - It would be great if you could share the video link and the story on your blog.
Please watch the video, it is about 5 min long.
Thanks and regards,
Kanniks
Here is a youtube clip of the great story regarding the revival of the ancient chariot festival at the Tiruvidaimarudur temple in Tamilnadu. This ancient 'rath yatra' festival that came to a halt 75 years ago features the pulling of an 89 feet chariot by a gathering of 5000. It is being revived after a major renovation on the 19th of January this year.
Here is a youtube clip of this story with a recording of an 18th century composition of Dikshitar.
Also, here is a full Templenet feature for the occasion. www.templenet.com/Articles/revival.html
It is only sensational news that gets circulated.
Although this revival is not sensational by conventional terms, it is a historic occasion; it would be great if this event was made known to a large group of people. Please forward these links to those who may be interested.
Many regards,
