moderation reimposed because of too much garbage

jan 13th, 2011

the moderators of this group have decided to reimpose moderation because of the large amount of garbage spewed here, mostly by that highly energetic -- i wonder where he gets the energy for this after all his porn-surfing and related one-handed typing -- christist pig, major pain in the ass jacob.

we don't want a vandal scrawling graffiti all over this blog. therefore we will reimpose moderation, until such time as the spam filter starts working better. at the moment, it is pretty much useless, although there are 100s of posts by the troll that have been marked as spam -- it doesn't recognize new posts by the same troll as spam.

Is it possible to have an allowed list of bloggers that have their comments shown instantly, so that only the balance new bloggers (which are a small minority) need to be moderated? Might save you work.

i don't think so. blogger's management mechanisms are primitive, but i will take a look. it may be that i can create a list of blog members who can post without moderation.

Rajeev, is it possible to publish region wise breakdown of readership? I am just curious which countries are in top five and if China and Pakroaches show up.

Hard luck. I logged into my own blogger account after many years to check things out. I do not think there is enough functionality to have an approved list. There is only the option of having only members put up comments, but in that case others get excluded.
