i agree, harish that this is something of a landmark to be appreciated. despite many false starts and cost overruns, to have built something viable is admirable.
in the long run, we need to have a vibrant arms industry in india. can't keep buying stuff from undependable foreigners -- who will over-charge and attach strings.
on the other hand, it is true that the DRDO has been notably lacking in good output -- no doubt a result of the nehruvian stalinist nature of all establishments.
