I am afraid the prof is wrong on this one - the fraud seems to have been ongoing for several years. I am not sure if the elections pushed him of the cliff.

I am beginning to doubt the credibility of Raju's confessions. It would be interesting to know how the Maytas land deals were effected. Political patronage apart - would there potentially be satyam money seeping into those land deals?
