Does anybody remember those telethons by Al-Jazeera? Now BBC's going the same route.
So now BBC will be openly partisan, instead of outwardly denying its biases, because it will be launching so-called humanitarian appeals for the Palestinian side in the Gaza conflict.
Well, at least now they can throw away all pretenses of being "impartial" - as if they ever were.
How long before they start doing this crap on Kashmir?

The Palestinians have every right to make their own country. Us Indians are the Palestinians of South Asia. Pakistan is the Israel of S.Asia.
Just because the cow is bigger than the butcxher, it doesn't mean the cow is in control. Just because India is bigger than Pakistan, it doesn't mean India isn't Palestine and Pakistan isn't Israel. Think carefully.

The news item says the opposite - that BBC will *not* broadcast the appeal by the terrorists.
Dubi, you are wrong. Palestinians want to set up another Islamic theocracy and they must be prevented from doing so. Why should we support anyone from setting up a country just so that they can throw stones at women? Arab women have more rights in Israel than in any Muslim country. Arabs want to migrate to other countries, but they do not allow anyone to migrate into their countries. So they have lost all rights that can be extended to decent people.
Palestinians are terrorists who blow up innocent people because they believe that they will get 72 virgins and 28 boys in heaven.

Everyone accepts the two state solution to the middle east issue - everyone except one party - the palestinians themselves alongwith the assorted Hamas / Fatah etc.
So when there being no two state solution - they are correct; they do not want the state of Israel!
Look, I agree totally that women are very oppressed in Islam generally. We ought to really push womens rights in INdia as a way to show both the bigots in Islam (by far the majority of Islamic men) and the bigots in Hindus (yes there are some - no where the same numbers as Islam, but there are) that we wont stand for the bullshit anymore.
That does not invalidate the Palestinian cause however.
Palestine is not a problem as simple as "Who's lobbing rockets?" etc.
(BTW Rajeev, the Palestinians didn't reject the two-state solution. What Clinton offered to them was basically Bantustans and minus Jerusalem.)
The Jews by bombing the King David Hotel in Jerusalem back in 1927 or whatever became the first terrorists in Palestine. The Irgun has no parallel in Hindu struggle. The RSS pales in comparison to the money and power that the extremists in Judaism hold. Even today the Orthodox jews dont honor the draft or work for a living, while Brahmins in India slog their ass everyday in the 'secular world.
Look at the track record of jews in India. The tiny jewish community in India nonetheless vigorously opposed independence for India, preferin to identify themselves as 'European' in an effort to preserve their disprotionate role in the British Indian economy. Jews owned a large portion of the shares of the East India Company (pumping it no doubt for greater and greater profit while Indian farmers and artisans were bankrupted).
Do not make common cause with the jews because they have never been friends of India. If we have a cooperative relationship now, its only because they see us as the 'useful idiots'.
We can also obtain collateral benefit for our own causes by playing both sides against each other.
Let us NOT get bogged down in someone elses game. Fireup the popcorn and watch. Stay out of that fight. We only lose if we step into that arena.

Tell you what, I don't support Palestine because they want a theocracy. They better learn to live as civilized human beings. In fact, they should thank the Jews for giving them a better quality of life than the barbaric system that they would get if they ruled themselves.
