meanwhile in nepal - another stalinist tramples over hindu temple tradition

http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=172672

The Christist Prachanda wishes you merry christmas - now hand over the money and get lost!!!

The Pashupatinath temple priests have always been Namboodiri's from Kerala - not anymore. local "brahmins' (interesting that one of them was named Dahal i.e. Prachanda's family name) will now be deputed and the temple money will be stolen by his holiness prachanda and handed over to the vatican - so that more christist priests can have "spiritual refreshments" with Nepali boys

this prchanda is showing himself to be every bit the crypto-christist. he will eventually turn into an asian version of tin-pot african dictators like idi amin 'dada' or that mobutu seko blighter

a devanagiri hindi version of the events here on Amitabh Tripathi's news network site- http://lokmanch.com/cms/index.php/culture/3316-2008-12-30-09-11-01

If I am not mistaken, the Pashupatinath Temple priests are always Brahmins from Karnataka, not Namboodiri Brahmins from Kerala.

Namboodiri Brahmin priests officiate at the famous Badrinath Temple in Uttaranchal.

However both these traditions were established by Adi Shankara who was a Namboodiri Brahmin. I also read somewhere that he stipulated that 'Joshi' Brahmins from the North and Maharashtra officiate at important temples in the South, and vice versa for East & West India.

You could say Hinduism as it is known today(the worship of six main deities, namely Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti, Ganesha, Skanda, Surya) is largely due to Adi Shankara who was known as 'Shanmatha Sthapana Acharya'(establisher of the six forms of worship).

He was the first to drive the idea of Hindu Cultural Nationalism with establishment of the 4 main Shankara Mathas at the 4 corners of the country as well as the above appointment of priests.

Adi Shankara gave the Hindus a sense of belonging to the country of Bharatvarsha much before the idea of India came into being.

for what it is worth - the Nambudiri wikipedia page also says that Pashupatinath priests were also Nambudiri's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namboodiri

agree fully on Adi Shankara - we need another one of him to fight these stalinist thugs. of course - in India they would castigate him as communal today!!!

incidentally - I think priests at Pashupatinath did not allow Sonia Gandhi to enter the temple on account of her not being a hindu and italian born - hence it is most likely that prachanda stalinist has taken over the temple at her request. sonia and her kingini are in cahoots with both the jihadists (who will never kill her) and the Christist-stalinists

Contrary to what you think, it was Madhwacharya that made the worshipping of Vishnu as the mani n deity amongst a section of brahmins, especially, brahmins. In fact, the main point of contention between Madhwas and Smarthas(followers of Shankara) is the central God that they worship, respectively. To Madhwas, Vishnu is "Sarvottama", the only super soul.

Madhwa single handedly countered the conversion activities of missinaries in and around the coastal belt of Mangalore. He tried to provide an alternative to xtianity within Hinduism by propounding the philosophy of Dualism by providing a basis for it in Upanishads and Vedas. Of course, the SHankaracharya followers abhor him for this very reason - for thinking differently!

BTW, Joshis are Kannada Madhwa brahmins hailing from North Karnataka eventhough they speak Marathi fluently to the point of mistaking them for Marashtrian brahmins! They are there all over Maharashtra. Pundit Bhimsen Gururaja Joshi is a Kannada Madhwa brahmin and he is proud of it!
